Nestling under a canopy of broadleaf trees and a yew grove, this natural burial site lies in a peaceful and secluded corner of The Sustainability Centre, in the South Downs National Park. 
​Bordered on three sides by woodland, creating a true sense of intimacy and privacy, the south side overlooks a 50-acre sheep pasture and, on a clear day, gives breath-taking views across Hampshire down to the coast.

Michael’s Wood is a beautiful woodland burial ground for both pets and people and is part of the Cholderton Estate, an organic working farm on the Hampshire Wiltshire border. A place of peace and tranquility, abundant with wildlife, wild grasses and flowers, with a dense screen of Hawthorn and Blackthorn, and an interior dotted with a variety of native trees including Horse Chestnut, Yew and Hazel. Although Michael’s Wood is at the centre of the organic 2,000 acre Cholderton Estate, it is always open to families and visitors whether they are visiting loved ones or simply taking a stroll through the mature trees, surrounded by wildlife.
